Learning Agents is proud to announce that a pilot project for a "school to work" ePortfolio has won a Red River College award for learning innovation.

"Aboriginal Paths from School to Work" was developed by Don Presant and Pamela McLeod, an instructor in the "Computer Applications for Business Program". The short ePortfolio program included:

  • Building awareness about digital identity on the Internet, using examples of "ePortfolio-friendly" evidence on public applications such as YouTube
  • Converting (not dumping) existing paper portfolios to interactive electronic format
  • Digitization of relevant evidence, including pictures, scans, and videos of skills demonstrations and "elevator speeches"
  • Packaging and publishing the learner-owned portfolios onto free "Web 2.0" websites

Jeff Zabudsky, President of Red River College, presented the award to Pamela and Don and mentioned he would comment on it in his blog .
